2^nd Annual Fall Coyote Hunt

The Sigel Sportsmen Club is sponsoring its second fall hunt for the elusive and cunning Eastern Coyote. The coyote hunt will coincide with Pennsylvania’s, “Regular Deer Season”, and November 27th through December 9th, 2006.

The Sigel Sportsmen Club has scheduled this unique coyote hunt that allows deer hunters to kill unsuspecting coyotes, while watching or hunting for their buck. 

The clubs first fall hunt during the 2005 deer season had 450 hunters registered and 25 coyote were entered at the club during the 2-week deer season. George Wilson, President of the club, anticipates close to 1000 hunters will enter the 2006 deer/coyote hunt. Prize money for coyotes entered, depends on the number of hunters entered in the hunt.

The Sigel Sportsmen Club will split the hunt registration fee of $10 dollars, 50/50. Fifty percent of the registration will be divided equally between successful hunters.  

Club members will be at the club each evening from 6-8 PM following the opening of deer season, to process coyotes that are entered. Hunt rules require a coyote to be processed within 36 hours and the final day to process a coyote is Sunday December 9^th, between noon and 2PM, at the clubhouse, one mile north of Sigel on route 949.

 To enter the coyote hunt a $10 dollar registration ticket may be obtained at the following locations; Truman’s Store in Sigel; Rich’s Outdoor World’s 4 locations; Route 66 Sporting Goods, Rt. 66 Shippenville; Iroquois Archery, Rt. 322 Brookville; Shooting Corner, Rt. 219 Brockway; Ammo & Arms, St Mary’s; Nolph’s Store, Rt. 422 east of Butler and Schultz’s Sportsmen Stop, Apollo.

FOR ENTERING A “SIZE DOESN’T MATTER” KILL

 ·          ANY AND ALL COYOTES ENTERED BY A HUNT PARTICIPANT MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN WITHIN THE STATE BOUNDARIES OF PENNSYLVANIA/ SIZE AND WEIGHT DOESN’T MATTER

·          EACH MEMBER OF A HUNTING GROUP/PARTY MUST POSSESS A HUNT REGISTRATION OR THE COYOTE IS DISQUALIFIED

·          COYOTE MUST BE KILLED/TAKEN DURING THE DAYS AND HOURS OF THE HUNT  (START- COINCIDES WITH PA REGULAR DEER SEASON MONDAY NOV 26 / CLOSES SAT DECEMBER 9

·          ANIMALS MUST BE PRESENTED AT CLUB WITHIN 36 HOURS OF KILL/ FINAL ENTRIES WILL BE RECEIVED SUNDAY DEC 10 BETWEEN NOON & 2PM

·          ANY COYOTE THAT SHOWS EVIDENCE OF BEING TRAPPED, SNARED, PENNED, FROZEN OR ROAD KILLED WILL BE DISQUALIFIED

·          PARTICIPANT MUST BE PROPERLY LICENSED BY THE PENNSYLVANIA GAME COMMISSION TO QUALIFY

·          ANY VIOLATIONS OF THE PENNSYLVANIA GAME LAW OR REGULATIONS BY THE PARTICIPANT WILL BE A COYOTE DISQUALIFICATION

·          PARTICIPANT MUST WILLINGLY PRODUCE/SHOW POSITIVE MEANS OF IDENTIFICATION

·          PARTICIPANT MUST WILLINGLY PERMIT COYOTE TO BE MARKED, TATTOOED, TONGUE SLICED TO ELIMINATE FRAUD

·          PARTICIPANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISPOSAL OF THE COYOTE CARCASS AFTER ENTRY

·          SIGEL SPORTSMEN’S CLUB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO HAVE A COYOTE INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL. THE CLUB FURTHER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO HAVE AN AUTOPSY PREFORMED IN THE EVENT OF ANY SUSPICIOUS CONDITIONS THAT MAY EXIST

Registration Money split 50/50 - fifty percent is split equally between coyotes entered
